World Book Day

World Book Day

On the 23rd of April, David J. Rusk Library celebrated World Book Day by exploring the importance of books, reading and knowledge by engaging students in fun and creative literary activities. The main objective of this event was to encourage reading habits, enhance creativity and improve students’ knowledge through interactive participation.

So, the first half of the event was conducted as a Quiz Competition where questions related to General Knowledge, History, Geography, Politics, Banking, Culture, Psychology, Sports, and Library were asked. This was conducted in the form of four rounds where each round served a different purpose of knowledge sharing. During the competition, participants were fully engaged and were in high spirit to answer the questions and also broaden their horizon of knowledge.

Later students engaged in bookmark and bookcover making. In this part of the event, around 15 people participated in designing creative book marks and covers. All the things needed to design such as paints, colored markers, sharpies, washi tape, heavy bookmark papers, etc. were provided to the participants. Everyone expressed their creative forms of art and created two bookmarks each one for us to keep and the other to take home. Likewise, two book covers were also made in this process.
