Nepal Social Work Symposium: Hope and Harmony.

The School of Social Sciences and the Social Work Club of Thames International College have officially announced their annual flagship event, the Social Work Symposium 2026, scheduled for August 26 and 27, 2026. This year’s theme, adopted from the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Social Work Month campaign, is "Co-building Hope & Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society." Drawing inspiration from the East African concept of 'Harambee' (meaning "all pull together"), the symposium focuses on solidarity, community resilience, and collective responsibility in bridging social divides.

Month-Long Pre-Symposium Festivities (July 24 – August 25)

To build engagement leading up to the main event day, Thames International College is hosting a full month of pre-symposium activities from July 24 to August 25, 2026.

The pre-symposium line-up is an interdisciplinary effort organized by the School of Social Sciences and Social Work Club in collaboration with:

  • The Writing Center
  • Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL)
